Green Side Out...

This is the start of my blog "Green Side Out..."

I spent most of my earlier life in the Marines.  The phrase "Green Side Out..." comes from that time.  Our old camouflaged uniforms and tents (shelter-halves) had a desert-colored pattern (Brown Side) on one side and a "forest" pattern (Green Side) on the other.  The exposed side was selected depending upon the environment we were operating in.

The saying "Green side out...Brown side out" became an expression of indecision, miscommunication, or seemingly arbitrary changing of "the word"...i.e. now that we are all set up with our uniforms or tents pitched "brown side out", change it to "green side out".
